Troegs Nugget Nectar - Holy Hops!

Troeg's Nugget Nectar - if you dont like hops stop here, this beer will punch you in the face with a very strong hop flavor! On pour you will notice the beer is a cloudy orange/amber color, with a nice head. This beer is brewed with 5 different types of hops, producing a slightly bitter fruit taste. Its very smooth and leaves a nice fresh after taste. I'm a big fan of this beer both in bottles and draft. I would rate this 4.5 out of 5 pints!

Burton Baton - A Rare and fine beer!

Up tonight is a DogFish head Burton Baton IPA - This is a special two blend beer - the classic DFH 90 Minute IPA and an Oak-Aged English Strong Ale. First you notice the wonderful dark amber/caramel color. On first drink you get a nice citrus flavor from the hops, and the finish is a very subtle vanilla flavor that comes from the Oak-Aged Ale. Be warned when you drink this fantasic beer, it will hit you with a strong 10% ABV! It wont take many of these before you find your self telling the walls how pretty they are, or how sexy you find the flooring. This gets a 4.5 out of 5 pints

Thursday night I found my beer heaven! Vintage Estate Wine and Beer! This place has over 700 bottles of craft brews. There are enough different beers to sample here that I will have plenty of material for my beer blog! Stay tuned!

Blackout Stout - not for the faint of heart!

Welcome to the dark side! Last night I enjoyed a Great Lakes Brewery Black Out Stout. This beer is very bold, it has a strong hop flavor, and goes well with red meat. Black Out Stout is a Russian Imperial Stout, Imperial Stouts were originally brewed in the 1800's for the Czar's in Russia. It by nature has a high alcohol by volume content (this one is 9% ABV) - and has very little carbonation. Many will shy away from this beer because of the dark color, but they are missing out on a great complement to a big steak. This beer also goes well with rich chocolate desserts. Overall this is a 3.5 out of 5 "pints"

Welcome to craft beer review

Welcome, follow me on my journey through as many craft brewed beers as possible. I have no qualifications other than my love of great beer, and my new found obsession with finding the best beers available. I'm not being paid for this, nor am I going to try to sell anything, just putting my opinion out there.

Tonight I stopped by my local beer shack and found quite an impressive selection of craft beers - this will likely become a popular place for me to purchase the new beers. I picked up two four packs from DogFish Head a fine craft brewery in Delaware - First up is the Aprihop. Aprihop is a smooth IPA (India Pale Ale) - brewed with real apricots. The first thing you will notice about this beer is the gorgeous dark amber color, followed closely by the crisp fresh taste. This is the type of beer I would reach for as soon as I've finished working in the yard on a warm spring afternoon. It has a great finish with just a hint of the fruit, not overly sweet, just enough to give it a fantasic finish. On my beer scale this gets a 4 out of 5 "pints". I highly recommned this wonderful beer. Well Done
